What to ask your photographer?
For all of you who are still looking for a wedding photographer, please read this. It will make it easier to select your photographer. What to ask?
Before you even meet him, take a look at his work on the internet. Nowadays any self respecting photographer should have a decent website with lots (hundreds) of images. Make sure the photographer fits your budget.
Then during the meeting you should find out at least the following:
- Who will be your photographer? (in case of a studio you have the right to know who will be photographing you since everyone has his own style)
- What is his experience? Is he a specialist?
- Will there be a second photographer or assistant?
- How many hours will the photographer be at your wedding and what cost an extra hour?
- How many pictures do you receive and when? And how much cost extra prints?
- How will your wedding images be presented to you?
- Can your photographer provide you with real wedding albums or a weddingbook? Will he design and make the album / book? How long will this take?
- Can you buy (digital) negatives?
- Are the prices fixed on time of booking?
- How does the payment schedule looks like?
When you are satisfied with the answers and you like the photographer and his work and you can afford him the only thing left is to book him.
Keep in mind that paying 'kapara' is often the only way to reserve your date.
Of course your photographer can also be female, then read her instead of his…
