It was really great to do this project - everyone was so relaxed and enjoying it so much - that I am sure their will be a follow up. I already have some ideas!
The coming weeks I will process all photos and every session will be blogged, so please come back to see all the brides!
Today is a very special day! I am celebrating my own marriage!
10 years ago I married my lovely wife on a small sailing ship at the international waters nearby the Kornati Islands, Croatia. Since the wedding was planned only two days in advance, I asked a stranger on the boat to take our wedding photos with my camera. This is one of the rare wedding photos we have and cherish.
Silvana moja, volim te i hvala ti da dosla u moj zivot!
Yesterday it finally happened! I wrote already enough about it. Below are two images. The first one is taken in the wellness center of Hotel Sheraton, the second photo is taken in front of the railway station in Zagreb…
It is time to introduce today’s hero’s! Without them the whole project wouldn’t exist.
Meet the brides: Ana, Maja, Maja, Marija, Marina and Martina.
Meet the groom: Igor.
Meet the crew (styling): Lucija, Mario and Renata.
Moral support and press clipping: Silvana.
And last but not least, the photographic team: Ivana, Milos, Natasja and Olaf.
Now, let’s hope it will be big fun!
Olaf Siebert, Dutch wedding photographer living in Zagreb, invites you to the first Croatian “Trash The Dress” session, which will take place on several locations in the centre of Zagreb, next week.
“Trash The Dress” is a new trend in wedding photography coming from the USA with the romantic idea behind: the celebration of the eternal character of the matrimony so the wedding dress as a material symbol of the wedding won’t be needed anymore.
The Zagreb “Trash The Dress” session will not be only the first in Croatia but the largest one in Europe bringing together for the first time 6 brides and one groom in one session.
“Trash The Dress” Zagreb will be possible thanks to the participation of the best representatives of the Croatian wedding industry, with a special quest: wedding photographer Milos Horvat from Slovenia.
Hairstylist: frizerski salon Kefa, make up artist: MakeUp Renata, dresses by: vjenčanice Nikolina, underwater cameras by: Olympus and photography by: Milos Horvat & Olaf Siebert.

Within three weeks the biggest Trash The Dress party ever kept in Europe will be held here in our own Zagreb! Those who follow my (old) blog know that I am for several months preparing now and I must admit I am really looking forward.
At this very moment I am having still talks with the sponsors of the project and I am grateful to them as well as the five brides, 1 groom and 3 models who are willing to trash the dress and suit! It will be big fun.
Keep on watching the blog for more info. If you want to join, send me a mail but know there is a waiting list but if you want to trash your dress, feel free to contact me.
Since we did not had too much time, we decided to do Danijela's photo session at the roof of a sky creeper. Not the most common place I have to admit, but we had lots of fun and that is what matters! Below are some images…
A new name! But the same style, service and quality as you are used of us. A new name! But we still will be trendsetters in the Croatian wedding market and we will remain one of the best!
Since we do have many international weddings we wanted a more pronounceable name which shows what we are doing: weddings only!
I believe in specialization. You can only be the best if you specialize. Therefore we will not open a shop to sell films or cameras. We will not open a studio to photograph stills and other things. No, we will shoot weddings only simply because this is what we love to do!
For all those couples who gave me their trust and confidence to let me shoot their wedding, a big thanks! Olaf Siebert
This weekend I photographed an engagement session with Martina and Mario in park Maksimir, Zagreb. Martina has lovely eyes and the couple real loves each other. Next week I’ll put up some more images…
The official marriage took place in Switzerland, but Nicole & Kresimir decided to keep the church (Ksaver) ceremony as well as a nice party in Hotel As, Zagreb. I really enjoyed it and below are some photos of their day.
